One Place I Used To Buy Comics

It’s a used bookstore on Broadway; I think it’s called Book Center? Anyway, they used to be the place I’d buy comics between shopping at Bright’s Book Exchange (near Warner Gear, then on campus) and buying stuff at Bob’s Comic Castle (at the White River Mall).

They still had a rack of comics they were selling for a dollar, including a bunch of recent Marvel stuff.

The kid in the picture bought about five dollars’ worth of various stuff once the old fat guy got out of his way. It’s sad that I have so few memories of kids shopping in comics shops, but the ones I have are dominated by kids working the dollar and quarter bins. There’s a lesson there, perhaps.
